Category Description

The forestry machinery operator is able to plan and implement the felling and local transport of machine timber as part of the logistic chain of the timber harvesting process at a lumbering site. The forestry machine operator should also master the regulations for quality tree felling, and also from the viewpoint of forest owners, end users and the authorities. The forestry machine operator should take into account good forest management and environmental management requirements. The forestry machine operator also has to have command of technological applications for machine operation and the transfer of data, and mastery of the basic maintenance and repairs of the forestry machine. The operator observes forestry and machinery industry occupational health and safety rules and regulations in his work.

In the competition in the use of forestry machinery, a modern learning environment will be used, including for example, simulators and virtual world technology, so that the conditions for the competition can be guaranteed to be as even as possible for the competitors.
