Category Description

 

A beautician/beauty advisor plans, implements and markets facial and body treatments, pedicures, manicures and make-up to customers. In addition to this, he or she also sells skincare products, advises customers on home care of the skin and body, and guides them with choosing and using skincare products. A beauty therapy professional is an expert of skincare and skincare counseling, massage and make up. As a beautician/beauty advisor, you can plan, advertise and implement treatments for the face, body, feet and hands and do make ups, in co-operation with beauty or health professionals, fashion industry and the media.


Selling and marketing skincare and make up products and beauty services is also part of the work. The general objectives of the basic degree in beauty therapy aim at extensive abilities to work as both a self-employed beauty therapist and as a worker in treatments, beauty counseling and sales. This category is founded on the basis of the curriculum and demonstration exam set for a vocational qualification.

Semi-Finals Coordinator

 

• Number of competitors/ 3 competitors per unit
• Semi-final tasks: Basic facial and hand treatment (bright red matte nail polish), competition time allowed 2 hours
• Facial analysis card from the Skincare text
• Each institute will compete with the products which the student brings with them
