Category Description

 

The catering professional plans, prepares and serves tasty, tempting and healthy complete meals to their customers, as well as taking into account special diets. The planning and carrying out of special occasion and theme meals are also part of the job description of the catering profession. In food production, the catering professional also pays attention to hygiene, sustainable development, and can monitor his/her own work.


Participation is open to young people studying for a qualification in vocational education who have been born in 1991 or after. The vocational basic degree training refers to an education that will lead to a basic degree, or that is a preliminary training in an institute or as an apprentice.

 

The competitors will compete in pairs in the competition.

 

The purpose of the competition is to raise the image of vocational education and the catering field. The category is based on the curriculum-based vocational qualification in Catering, and the study in institutional food production, special occasion service, catering and theme foods, and on the requirements of level 3 (in a scale of 1 to 3).
